A focused course in dialogue editing: what it is and how it fits in sound post; session setup and the sources (production, ADR, group); choosing takes, cutting clean, smoothing with room tone/handles/crossfades, checkerboarding and sync; cleanup and restoration (noise, hum, de-noise, spectral repair, clicks/plosives/breaths and their limits); and delivery and craft (ADR fitting, the dialogue stem, the M&E, and careers).
